The mixing techniques listed for Essential and Advanced Mixing are examples of processing likely to be used within the time constraints. These examples do not represent a checklist. During an Advanced Mixing session these signal processing techniques will be implemented on an as-needed basis, when deemed necessary or beneficial to critical mix elements. Likewise, Essential Mixing sessions may utilize advanced techniques to a time-sensitive degree when deemed necessary to critical mix elements. The difference between Essential and Advanced services is not the individual processing techniques, but rather the engineer's ability to focus on critical versus non-critical mix elements, based on the tone quality of the project and the time constraints of the chosen service.
